According to representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the end of last week was marked for residents of the southern regions of the country by a total invasion of locusts on agricultural land and other plantings.

Based on the information shared by experts of the federal agency Rosselkhoztsentr, locusts attacked over six hundred sixteen thousand hectares of Russian open spaces last Saturday.

To defeat the pest, Russian farmers are connecting special equipment - both ground and air. It is known that at least four hundred and sixty units of ground equipment, as well as over forty aircraft, were connected to the locust control process.

Locust confrontation is conducted in the vast republics of Dagestan and Chechnya, as well as in Kalmykia, in the Stavropol Territory, in the Rostov Region, on the lands of Volgograd and Astrakhan. The fighters with the raiders have already managed to process about one hundred and ninety thousand hectares with special means and equipment.

It will not be superfluous to note that in the summer of 2018, a real disaster due to locust raids formed on the territory of the Rostov Region, the Republic of Dagestan and the vastness of the Stavropol Territory.

And the Kalmyk agrarians and farmers of Khakassia spent all of last summer in high alert mode to attack the locusts.
