How to make a fishing rod

To build a fishing rod for winter fishing is quite simple, for this you will need several improvised materials that are in almost every house, as well as a standard set of accessories from the nearest fishing store.

These include:

• a fragment of a smooth sheet of PVC with dimensions of 10 × 10 cm and a thickness of about 2 cm;
• upper knee from a standard carbon fiber rod;
• cambric in diameter of the future whip (2-5 cm long);
• 1 m fishing line with a thickness of 0.14 mm;
• universal glue (like “Moment”);
• file or sandpaper;
• drill with a set of drills.

Perform this procedure according to the following algorithm:

1. Form a whip, for this, shorten the tip from the feeder to a small fragment 20-30 cm long.
2. Make a small stick with a reel from a piece of PVC. The length of the largest side should not exceed 50–70 cm.
3. Make a through hole along the reel handle along the diameter of the rod.
4. Spread the edge of the rod with glue, and then insert it into the reel handle to the bottom edge. They do this so that in the future the fishing line can be easily inserted into the body of the whip.
5. Wait a day until the glue hardens completely.
6. Fill the fishing line with a whip and stretch it several times. This will allow you to sand all surfaces and facilitate refueling fishing line in the future.
7. Attach the cambric to the top of the rod.
8. Install fishing line and other gear on your fishing rod.

For nodding, you also need to make a nod. This accessory is no less simple to manufacture, since any material with elasticity (metal, x-ray film, etc.) is used for this. At the same time, the most popular of them is lavsan of different densities. Thin strips of the desired length and a thickness of not more than 5 mm are cut from it, after which several transverse pressed strips are made on the resulting blanks, forming stiffeners.

After that, the resulting workpiece must be turned under a cone to achieve optimal shape and rigidity. Each of the stiffeners at the end of the procedure must be rewound with a thin tungsten or copper wire. This action allows you to create the necessary bend, so their number can be from 1-2 to more than 4. At the end, the finished product is attached to the top of the rod using cambric, with an overlap on the rod of 2-5 cm.

Important! To improve the ergonomics of the design, the handle can be made from old wine corks strung on a wooden skewer. However, in this case, you will need to create a separate reel or buy a special reel.
