Today, Ukrainian producers and exporters of organics are better off focusing on strengthening their positions in existing markets, without spraying themselves on the search for new ones. This opinion was expressed by the representative of Organic Export Promoter Dmitry Titarenko.
Ukraine has trade relations with 30 countries, thanks to which Ukrainian organics enters the markets of 37 countries. The analysis shows that 94% of the export of Ukrainian organics goes to European countries.
TOP-10 countries where Ukrainian organic products are exported: Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Lithuania, Austria, Italy, France, Great Britain, Denmark and Poland.
“Export to these countries gives Ukraine 90% of all export revenue, and export to the Netherlands and Germany in 2018 yielded almost 40% of all profits. In addition, in 2018, exports to Lithuania and Switzerland increased sharply, ”says Dmitry Titarenko.
As for Ukraine’s trading partners in these countries, today it is about 250 operators. Moreover, 62 operators who exported Ukrainian products in 2017 and whose export volume amounted to 80%, stopped cooperation. But in 2018, 171 new operators entered the market. In 2018, new operators accounted for 86% of the export volume.
“The main reason for this is not market instability, but the elimination of traders in favor of direct buyers and the creation of their own companies abroad. Simply put, the number of intermediaries in trading is reduced.
This once again demonstrates the relevance of specialized international exhibitions (for example, Biofach - Germany, Izmir Fair - Turkey, Food Matters Live - Great Britain, etc.), is the main source of the maximum number of potential buyers and the opportunity to establish direct contacts with them. At their expense, the export volume of each individual operator also grows and as a result, the total Ukrainian export, ”said Dmitry Titarenko.
