In early 2019, the Republic of Dagestan experienced a rapid increase in prices for lamb meat.
In individual outlets, the cost of this product reached five thousand rubles per kilogram. Not surprisingly, this fact caused a flurry of indignation among consumers, among which mutton is in particularly high demand compared to other types of meat.
The authorities of Dagestan explained this increase in prices by the export of republican meat to Iran. And they assured that they would take measures to stabilize prices, based on the interests of Dagestan buyers. And here Adilkhan Ganakaev, who is the first deputy head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan, noted that today in the region, it was finally possible to stabilize the prices of lamb meat.
As a result, today on the trading floors in the cities of Dagestan, the cost of mutton ranges from 370 to 390 rubles. In markets and in rural stores of the republic, the cost of this product is even lower. It is known that Dagestan breeders export sheep meat to several countries around the world.
Given this fact, market analysts have the hope that reducing the cost of production of lamb meat (which determines the cost of goods in Dagestan outlets) will in no way affect exports. Note that today such mutton prices as in Dagestan are recognized as the lowest in the entire North Caucasian Federal District.
