Ukrainians are gradually reducing the consumption of potatoes and products made from it. this figure was already 6.4 kg per month, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

The population found the replacement of traditional potatoes in the form of products that were not previously included in the diet. New on the menu of the Ukrainians were couscous, bulgur and sweet potato sweet potato.

Between 2010 and 2017, the number of bulgur imported into the country increased 107 times - from 23 tons to 2.47 thousand tons.

Imports of couscous increased 36 times. 22 tons were brought in, and already in 2017 - 788 tons. In 2017, Ukraine bought 44 tons of sweet potatoes abroad, while in 2010 this product was not imported at all.

Recall that in 2019 in the Odessa region it is planned to allocate 10-20 hectares of land for the cultivation of organic sweet potatoes. In 2018, the Danube Agrarian enterprise sold 5 tons of sweet potato through a distribution network. The company plans to increase production of sweet organic potatoes and enter the world market with it. In the meantime, the world leaders in the production of sweet potato are Indonesia, India and China.
