So, according to experts from Rosstat, over the past year, white cabbage has become more expensive for Russian consumers by 23.8%. As for carrots, today buyers from the Russian Federation give 11.1% more money for it than in the spring of 2018.
Tomatoes have also risen in price - today they cost 10.6% more than a year earlier. As you can see, the price growth trend persists for the products of the so-called "borsch set". It is important to emphasize that prices for the non-food group of goods rose by only 0.2%.
We add that earlier market analysts predicted higher prices for food products at the end of the May holidays of 2019. According to experts, the leaders in the near future will be such goods as alcohol, soft drinks and semi-finished products made from raw meat.
Based on preliminary estimates by experts, dumplings, dumplings, wine, vodka and other products from these categories will rise in price by at least 5%.
