New varieties mid-season variety Altyn late-ripe variety Everest have a high yield potential - up to 20 centners per hectare, and this with an average crop yield in Belarus of 10 centners per hectare.
Novelties were the result of hard work of breeders of the Institute of Flax of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. In addition, the institute’s specialists are working on the development of new varieties of oil flax, even despite the fact that the demand in the republic for such flax is much lower than for long flax. Oil flax in Belarus is cultivated on only 1300 hectares.
