The Government of India has launched a multilingual mobile application for connecting farmers with services for hiring customers of agricultural machinery banks.
The Minister of State for Agriculture and Welfare of Farmers (MoA & FW) recently launched a multilingual mobile application for farmers in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
The application, CHC Farm Machinery, will allow farmers to connect and use the services of Customer Recruitment Centers (CHC) within 50 km. from their territory.
According to a press release, this will allow local farmers from states across the country to connect to CHCs and high-tech centers created as part of MoA & FW without a computer support system.
The application will help individual farmers who want to provide their agricultural machinery and equipment on a rental basis to increase income for their farm.
Earlier, the Indian government created a central sector scheme to support the governments of the states of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, as well as to subsidize the equipment needed to manage crop residues in place through agricultural mechanization.
Central sector schemes are 100% funded and implemented by the central government. During 2018-1919 the states of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and IKAR were allocated funds in the amount of 584.33 crore (about 82.2 million US dollars). All 3 states divided 32,570 vehicles on an individual basis among farmers and set up 7,960 employment centers.
As a result, events related to the burning of straw in the fields in 2018 decreased by 15% and 41% compared to 2017 and 2016. accordingly, according to the report of the Energy Committee.
