Representatives of the Krasnodar Territory authorities have prepared a work plan for their compatriots involved in rice cultivation. Based on the positions of this plan, regional rice growers should receive a harvest in 2019 in a total volume of at least one million tons.

Such information was shared by the deputy head of the administration of the Krasnodar Territory Andrey Korobka as part of a meeting of the regional government on the preparation of fields for sowing rice.

According to the press service of the regional administration, today rice cereal is included in the list of export-oriented products of the Krasnodar Territory. Based on this information, emphasis should be placed on ensuring that all agricultural reserves are involved, capable of ensuring the declared crop volumes for the year 2019.

To increase the chances of Krasnodar rice growers to fulfill the plan set by the authorities, an additional 8 thousand hectares were allocated to the agricultural assets of the region. And today, the area allocated for rice cultivation is about 125 thousand hectares.

Fedor Dereka, head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the region, notes that rice sowing will last on the Krasnodar fields for three weeks and will finish at the end of next month.
