Ponds, fenced from free fishing by high fences, will soon be abolished in Russia. Amateur fishing will become even more accessible for Russians. This decision was made as part of the signing of the federal law under number 475, which is effective from January 1, 2019.

In accordance with this law, over the next two years there will be a process of abolition of paid reservoirs for fishing. But only fishermen should remember that fishing will be prohibited in specially protected natural reservoirs, in reservoirs that are used to catch fish as part of commercial and industrial activities. Under strict control will be fishing at an amateur level in the reservoirs of Siberia, the Far East and the northern territories of Russia.

Despite the fact that paid fishing is abolished, fishermen should not forget to observe certain rules of conduct and ethics. First of all, it is important to treat water and fish resources with special care, adhere to the daily catch of fish and remember that in amateur fishing there is no place to use gill nets, electric current, explosives and chemicals.
