On October 15 this year, a meeting of the Committee on Entrepreneurship in the field of agriculture was held, where they discussed the difficulties faced by industrial gardening in the Central Black Earth Region.
The meeting was attended by lively representatives of the committee and owners of horticultural enterprises in the region.
In the area, 55 thousand are occupied by orchards. They must be uprooted as worthless. According to experts, now in the Voronezh region there are only half a dozen horticultural farms left. Of this number, 9 households operate in quarantine mode.
90% of the fruit plantations in the region are of old age. It is noteworthy that in this situation there are no new lands for laying new gardens, and uprooting is expensive.
Another problem of local gardeners is an insufficient amount of planting material: there is almost no Russian, and Polish or Spanish seedlings are not always able to withstand local climatic conditions.
Given the above, experts are of the opinion that industrial gardening in the Black Earth region will survive a deep crisis.
The participants in the meeting decided to ask for help in solving problematic issues of gardening from the governor, the department of agricultural policy of the HE, the Rosselkhoznadzor for the Voronezh region and the scientific community.
