The agricultural enterprise "Khmelnitsky", which is located near the resort town of Khmelnik, Vinnytsia region and is part of the agricultural holding "Astarta", completed the spring sowing campaign.
Sowing was carried out in optimal time and the first sowing had already sprouted together, the company said. From the beginning of the sowing campaign, Khmelnitskoye has used all units to cover moisture, which made it possible to successfully sow and plant seeds in moist soil.
The next stage of the season for agronomists and machine operators of an agricultural company is to carry out a set of measures to protect grain and industrial crops from pests and diseases, care for plants and prepare for harvesting in 2019.
Earlier it was reported that the agricultural enterprise "Khmelnitsky" this year began to grow chickpeas. The culture was sown on a 42 ha experimental plot, which the company reported on Facebook.
Using the example of the first experimental chickpea planting, employees of an agricultural enterprise hope to find out whether its cultivation will be promising in this region.
For information, chickpeas are widely used in cooking of the peoples of Asia, Africa and North America. Chickpeas are cultivated in more than 50 countries. About 13.5 million hectares are allocated for its cultivation.
