This year, Udmurt livestock farmers plan to achieve the maximum volume of milk produced - over 800 thousand tons, doubling last year's figure - 5% versus 2.4% for 2018, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the region said in a statement.
Considering the achievements of personal subsidiary plots of the population and the production rate demonstrated by farms and agricultural organizations since the beginning of this year, it is expected that milk production will be at the level of 820 thousand tons, said Olga Abramova, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Udmurt Republic.
In 2018, the gross milk yield obtained by all categories of farms was equal to 781.3 thousand tons.
On average, one cow is able to produce about 200 thousand glasses of milk during its life.
According to Olga Abramova, Udmurtia is becoming more confident in the elements of dairy farming, gradually approaching the mark of 1 million tons of milk per year. This target bar was set several years ago and now it no longer seems so unrealistic.
It is worth noting that the largest increase in milk is observed in peasant farms. This year, they increased milk sales by 17.1%, while agricultural organizations - by 9.4%. In FH, the number of dairy cows is also growing, which has increased by 460 animals, thereby ensuring a growth of 5%.
