Fishermen fishing in the waters of the Northern Basin delight the Russian domestic market with a generous catch of shrimp.

The trend to increase the catch of this seafood originated in 2018. Over the 12 months of last year, fishermen working in the Barents Sea caught about 12 thousand tons of northern shrimp, while the indicator for 2017 was only slightly less than four thousand tons.

Today, the total catch of Far Eastern fishermen includes more and more shrimp-cubs, peak shrimps, Greenland shrimp and prawn.

It is noteworthy that Russian fishermen increase their catch rates beyond the borders of the exclusive economic zone. In waters that belong to foreign countries, the catch of shrimp has grown over the year by as much as 27 tons. And now, catch figures in this zone exceed 400 tons, and in the open part of the oceans reach 430 tons.
