According to researchers at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Russian consumers eat an average of about 69 kilograms of meat and meat products per year.

It will not be superfluous to note that in the twenty countries in terms of annual consumption of meat products the leading positions are occupied by residents of the United States of America. It turned out that the average American eats about 120 kilograms of meat per year. For every Australian whose homeland is second in the ranking, about 11 kilograms of meat is consumed per year. As for the Spaniards, who occupy the third place, their indicator is 97 kilograms per person per year. The inhabitants of Israel did not reach the indicators of the Spaniards only 1 kilogram.Russia is in the eleventh place in the ranking of the Top 20 meat-eaters. Next come the inhabitants of South Africa and China with 58 kilograms. The last two lines are occupied by Nigeria (8 kilograms of meat per average citizen) and India: for every Indian, no more than 4 kilograms of meat production per year.
