On the blueberry market in Ukraine, the downward trend has resumed. At the same time, Info-Shuvar specialists recorded a significant expansion in the price range for this product.
As of July 30, 2019, blueberries are sold at 80-110 UAH / kg in Lviv, the largest wholesale market in the Shuvar ORSP “Lviv” in Lviv. (2.8-3.7 euro / kg.).
Since the beginning of the season, over 160 tons of Ukrainian blueberries have been sold at the Shuvar ORSP, the supply of berries began to grow especially rapidly in the last decade of July. During the week, the berry has fallen in price by 25%, the price reduction is due to an increase in the supply of small berries.
As Info-Shuvar has learned, the big offer of small berries this season is related to the pollination problems of blueberry plantations, which arose in the farmers in the spring due to cool and rainy weather. In addition, not all agronomists have the experience necessary to obtain large-caliber berries.
Over the last week of July, prices for small blueberries fell by 35%, merchants in the wholesale markets offer this berry at 80-90 UAH / kg. The cost of large-caliber blueberries dipped by 15% during the week; it is offered at 100-110 UAH / kg in the wholesale markets.
For comparison, a year ago, Ukrainian blueberries at the Shuvar ORSP were sold at 110-130 UAH / kg., And at the end of July 2017, the berry cost 160-170 UAH / kg.
